How we met

Who? Not me and Ivon, but me and my best guy friend. (I have no clue anymore which name I gave him in here, as I didn't want to use his real name) We sat in a buss, from Oxford to London, and there were no seats left so I took the last one next to him. He looked at me, wondering what the h*ll I wanted from him. I was so tired after everything that my first sentence was: "Hi, my name is Liz. Can I use you as a pillow?" He looked at me for a moment then said yeah. I've never slept better "with" somebody in my life. So we got to halfway, when suddenly I realized that I absolutely have to keep this incredible person around me for some more. We started talking.. and if he would be just a tad more handsome, it would have been love on first talk. :D No, just kidding. I was amazed because of his wittiness, funny jokes, (the fact that I hurt myself with the handlebar and tears burst out of my eyes and he didn't flinch!!!) his honesty and incredible feeling I got while talking with him- that he was truly present. It took us the whole day in London (which we spent together) and the next few weeks to be suddenly so present and constant in each others lives.

Want the truth? I was always (before I met him) so jealous of those who had a best friend. The day I met him in a way changed my life. I'm no longer as independent as I was before. Without him advising, being present in my everyday life I feel like a fish without water, a flower without sun.. it's like living without air. I have no idea what will happen if we will someday not be in contact anymore for whatever the reason may be. Now, I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad one.

And at that thought I will end this text.. Just imagine, how everything in my life is dependent from him. Well.. at least he doesn't know about this blog. :D

7 for all mankind

Five reasons why I wish now would be cold and there would be leaves falling:

1. Jeans
2. Jeans
3. Jeans
4. Jeans
5. Jeans

So, now as we have already established that.. Why am I hyping about jeans now. There couldn't be more easy reason behind this. I just bought a new pair jeans for a price they are not even worth. Would they have been a higher price, even three times as high, I would have paid it. This pair is everything I would ever want to have in jeans. It's comfortable, chick, basic (for me jeans are just a good basis of an outfit, the basis that has to be steady, in rain or no rain, and always be worn with the feeling you don't have anything on) and the material and cut was as cut for me personally.

Welcome the king of the jeans- 7 for all mankind. A Californian company, the jeans are popular by nearly all Hollywood stars, and for a reason. The cut, the small details, the fabric really makes a change. 11 years later, the jeans are sold in stores in over 80 countries. The only thing that can be difficult, is the price. If my assurance does help at all, those jeans are truly worth every penny. The best tip I can give, is to wait for sales in those stores. I don't know, maybe you will be even as lucky as I was and buy your jeans for 50% off.

Oh, and want to know the queen of jeans? Look Nudie Jeans up. (yeah, it's from Sweden)

Nightly chatting dates with Liz

I was sitting waiting (wishing.. Haha, Jack Johnson. His songs have been my listen-to music these past two days) for my best guyfriend to come and chat with me. It was dark, everybody else was already asleep and I waited and waited and waited for him. The nightly chatting "dates" (not in a romantic sense!) have been our hobby (he actually wrote it in a official paper "Nightly chatting dates with Liz") for over a year now. The only nights when this didn't happen- New Years Eve, whenever I or he were away in other countries, on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, the nights of our birthdays, Christmas, his ball night (a tradition here) and some other few. My white Mac is a laptop, he never owned a laptop so he sat always at his PC. The only reason why my computer is not as clean and white and shiny as it should be, are those chatting dates. I sat it on my lap on my bed, trying not to move for my parents shouldn't know. As shouldn't his, too. Most times we cracked up at some point so suddenly that there was no possibility to laugh into pillow. It was matter of seconds when our parents came and opened our doors, sincerely said, it needed ninja skills not to get caught while still laughing and closing the computer and saying bye to each other.

Sometimes he was so tired that he fell asleep in fifteen minutes and I had to call him on the phone so that his parents wouldn't find out about chatting dates. He would answer me totally bewildered but still whispering "Did I fall asleep again, Liz?" and we would talk for the next ten minutes about everything. At some point my parents would stop at my door wondering did they hear voices so he understood the situation and continued whispering absolutely stupid things to me like what he would do when he'd meet the Queen (greet and say Hi from me). The same happened sometimes with me- I would fall asleep and not wake up when the phone was ringing, my parents would come in find me sleeping with computer and phone ringing.. They would answer it and as he would understand the thing after few moments (after ofc telling them to wake up or my parents would come) he would say sorry and hang up.
There were times when I was at a party and at midnight went out to phone him that I'm not home. There was even this one time when I was at my best friends party and went to chat on her computer.. We chatted the whole party through, the whole night. At some point someone wanted to "loan" the room and I told them to go away. Next morning my best friend was laughing long since there were few boys asking for me and all she could say was "Liz is chatting with her best guy friend now, sorry".
We once had a massive fight about something very stupid, so we didn't have our date for few nights. At one morning (after three nights of me practically crying asleep) I got a call from him praying for me to forgive him. (and then we nearly had a new fight who was to blame, me or him)
Every now and then we would plan traveling all the world together. He would suggest a road trip in USA, I would suggest a similar one in France. We would agree on doing them both.

Now. This is just the nostalgia talk. You know when your friends "grow up", for example they have to study very hard to get through some huge, life changing exams? So they study the whole time, suddenly they don't have the time for you in the same way as before, and you feel like the whole week is crap because of that. So after being away all summer I had expected to come back and that everything would be as always with our dates. What I didn't know was that he had already begun to study and would study all the time. I nearly had an heart attack when I waited the whole night through and his image would not just pop up as it always did. I fell asleep. This happened every single night for a week. In the day time we would talk normally (or even more than before) but in the night.. I would fall asleep every single time and wake up with tears in my eyes.

Yesterday we talked about it and considered options (none of them which were anyhow realistic). So he invited me on a nightly chatting date at midnight.
It would have been perfect (and yeah I made a nicer night up-do than usual just for the occasion, and changed my night shirt into a sassy one- it's still a Date, right?) if I hadn't waited all night again through and then as nothing came from him, wrote a text with a "we shouldn't be friends but we are and he's kinda weird but totally adorable and my best friend doesn't approve him and even though he is also studying for the exams he has time for me in the night even though I help him to prepare for a date"-friend about "How to steal a guy from another (girl)". Totally bullsh*t.

Post-Narnian stress

Nervous. That's my main emotion right now. Even though tomorrow won't change anything.. For me, it kind of will. You know those people you haven't seen for a very long time.. and they have physically changed in that time a lot, so you suddenly realize that you have no clue how you will recognize them at that place where you agreed to meet.

Young love in the city. Photo by Liz
It's like you just spent a whole lifetime in Narnia and you wonder how has everything changed in your own world in the time. You want to look presentable, but not uptight, like yourself but in a better version. So you end up trying everything you have in your closet, go through your sisters closet (then clean it all up for she can't possibly know, she'll be so mad!) find nothing, burst into tears.. It's a tragical day for you. Your mantra is "shave shave shave" (ever tried to say that aloud very very quickly? sounds so crazy!) and you don't end up doing that at all. Since listening to your best friends story about her summer is so much more important.
Now, for tomorrow. Shave, find something to wear (is a quick shopping tour at the nearest mall too late?) and smile even if he is an asshole and talks about his break-up with his girlfriend the whole time. Be home early, blame your parents but be inside so relieved that you escaped the situation in some way very easily.

The Best of Stockholm

In my one week in Stockholm (just returned, phiuh, the flight was tiresome) I experienced a lot, saw the best bits of the city and now decided to show them to the wide public (or not) of this blog.

The Best Cafe of the whole place.. is of course (what were you thinking, huh?) the Coppola Caffe. Located on the Sergels Torg (you can't get more to Center in this part of city), just around the corner (you see the NK when you watch out of the window). They have the most kind stuff, who actually have to work damn hard as it's so popular), the seats are comfortable and the food.. you can't describe it. It's reasonably priced, done as in a restaurant and absolutely delicious. And even though there are always people seeking for a table in this cafe, (we were so lucky to find ourselves always a great table, but not everyone is) no one pushes you to leave. Practically, you are expected to sit long even over a cup of coffee. (in this world today, in the very city center this happens too rarely)

The Best Take-away (or eat in) is Cafe Metro, which is also in the very city center. I can highly recommend their salads, pastas, coffees and muffins. The girl at the counter is super nice!

The Best Bookshop is the English Bookshop. Located in the Gamla Stan (old town, it's an island of it's own) the keeper is a nice old man, who is glad to help. Personally, I loved the selection of the books- I couldn't find anything that didn't belong in there. Every single book is on English, there are no Swedish books included, and the (my favorite)- they have a very good variation of Keep Calm and ###- stuff. I got one too and now after many jungles, I've got it right next to me! I'll probably hang it in the House (which is by the way moving toward our move into it.. not very fast, but still) and then do a post why I actually chose the one.

What are words?

I have had a wonderful week here in Sweden with Liz including HP7, shopping, walking, laughing awfully etc., though, I have been feeling a bit ill and so on. Hopefully I can cope with my summer job on tuesday again. This computer sucs, so some nice pics and informations about Stockholm will be added here late (Oh how grateful I'm of my MacBook). As Liz was here with me we heard some tricky and amazing songs which we wrote down. But the name of this one here we didn't found - I'm just totally in love with these heartbreaking lyrics!!!!!!!!!!

Chris Medina - What are words

Anywhere you are, I am near
Anywhere you go, I'll be there
Anytime you whisper my name, you'll see
How every single promise I keep
Cuz what kind of guy would I be
If I was to leave when you need me most

What are words
If you really don't mean them
When you say them
What are words
If they're only for good times
Then they don't
When it's love
Yeah, you say them out loud
Those words, They never go away
They live on, even when we're gone

And I know an angel was sent just for me
And I know I'm meant to be where I am
And I'm gonna be
Standing right beside her tonight

And I'm gonna be by your side
I would never leave when she needs me most

What are words
If you really don't mean them
When you say them
What are words
If they're only for good times
Then they don't
When it's love
Yeah, you say them out loud
Those words, They never go away
They live on, even when we're gone

Anywhere you are, I am near
Anywhere you go, I'll be there
And I'm gonna be here forever more
Every single promise I keep
Cuz what kind of guy would I be
If I was to leave when you need me most

I'm forever keeping my angel close

Did I just get a small tear on my cheeck?

What if you are nice

What if you would suddenly find out that your dance partner cut his hair to an iroquois? That this iroquois was a blue one and he was thinking about having it turned blond?

http://weheartit.com/entry/11563970

What if you were washing the car and understood that you have to have a car since the family's car is too big, too expensive and too new to be broken while you drive the first times? Your next thought would be what am I gonna do since you can't afford own car and can't expect to get a new car out of blue on a beautiful summer morning.

What if your dance partner (oh, how everything seems to be happening around him today) has asked many people (we can count five as many, right?) if they do know in which part of the world you are at that moment and then when has received few addresses in few weeks has got frustrated and asked you straight since he wants to meet you because he misses you and wants to talk (hopefully not about his girlfriend..)? And you thought it was cute?

What would you feel if you would be flying over to your best friend tomorrow and you should be doing thousand and one things and you are still sitting at computer? (it's called lazy girl who's frustrated, just so you know)

Travel in train

If you, in the same way as I, have never travelled whole days in a train... Read this carefully: because now the wholly amazed Liz can tell you some tips for your train trips.  Be comfortable and and carefully clothed.

Tumblr_lnkrm7mcia1qa7wfmo1_500_large
http://weheartit.com/entry/11414984
1. Be comfortable and carefully clothed.

-> don't wear your best clothes (at some moment you'll get hot/cold and trust me, your best dress will         be all unwrinkled and not as great looking as before)
-> high heels is a big no-no. Trust flat shoes, if not Converse/Olympus, then comfortable flats/ballerinas.
jeans are the best choose. I support also tights+something combo
-> About those jeans. Even if tight jeans make your ass look great, don't wear them. Looks awful after 4 hours (or more) sitting.

2. Drink lots of water.
-> sitting whole day is tiring, and kind of the same as flying (you sit probably uncomfortably)

Tumblr_ln3hktfqfp1qac6sjo1_500_large
http://weheartit.com/entry/11411841
3. Trust (not) the cafes of trains.
   -> they are expensive
-> if you were so idiotic that forgot your water+food (snacks), trust them and buy the water and damn food.. we don't water a dead body in the crowd

4. Even if something doesn't go according to your plan, there is one thing 100% sure- there will be more trains.
-> don't cry/be bitchy to other people, it's not their fault. Probably it was your fault anyways.
-> relax, go with the flow, honey

5. If you sit next to an unknown person, talk with them. you are probably traveling with the train to a new town/city/country/.. and if they have lived there their whole life, they should know their city.
-> be sensitive, if they sleep or look sleepy, don't bother to wake them up
-> don't ask personal questions! It's not your place to know how their life is.
-> if you're a girl and you're asking a guy.. they might assume that you're hitting on them. Since I don't sport quickies  trains with strangers, my advice is: tell them that you have a boyfriend (even if you don't) and that you are not interested in him. This you tell at that moment when he is either suggesting something bad or strongly and weirdly telling you about his girlfriend.

Munich- the city that robs ones heart

Visiting Munich? Wonderful, great choose. The beautiful city us a treasure, the center of Bayern and a marvelous destination for a weekend trip (and if you can afford to be longer away from school/work, I can't see any reason why not to get away into the amazing city for a longer time).
First of all, Munich is a city where you pay only with € (no, if you give five dollars over the sum, they won't take dollars) this was just for your information, if you're not aware of how to pay. Good fact one should remember in Germany.
Munich is a beautiful place, with many cafees and small shops spread all over the place (don't be afraid to walk, even if it looks weird in some places). Be ready to ask people, as many times as they ask you whether they could somehow help you. My biggest advice: ask if you don't know (this is handy also in normal life). Try to find places that interest you. To make thoughts forehand, check this out!
Munich-surfers-englischer-garten_large
http://weheartit.com/entry/11100454

Frauenkirche- the most beautiful church around, there is a possibility to climb up the tower of the church. From there is a wonderful view across the city. Next to the church are many Biergarten. Visit one of them (my advice is, try in the night Hofbräuhaus, it's the oldest, biggest and most famous. But there are still more Germans in there than tourists, for it can get a tad loud sometimes)  It can be that you are more of a wine-girl than beer-girl. (I am for sure, as is Ivon!) Even though they have wine.. it doesn't look good if you order it. Trust me, you gotta have beer in some way, otherwise all the people around know that you are kinda messed up (in Germany you have to seek people who don't drink beer in any variations). One of the perfect things in Germany is, that they have variations, and many of them. With beer they variate it in "Diesel", "Radler", and many other ways. Diesel is a combination of Coca-Cola and beer, nearly fifty-fifty in the glass. Tastes like Coca-Cola, but has a twist of beer. Radler on other hand is the same thing but Sprite. These drinks are what Germans give their children at festivals and on other occasions.
46918_1601882093441_1427749297_31553320_5276262_n_large
http://weheartit.com/entry/3934058
Because Germans do everything properly, they even have Weinschorle- white or red wine combined with Sprite. Try it just for fun! For me, this tastes as summer, friends, youth, breaking the rules of behaviour (who would guess that you're as old as you are when you drink anything combined not with an other alcohol drink but with the usual, plain old Sprite/Cola?), it still has the taste of good old wine but with a new, refreshing side taste.

.. I guess I kinda got carried out now with the drinks. Well.. what can I do? A girl has to know what tastes best. The last thing about beer- the local big brand in Munich is Paulaner- beer. Don't go with Heineken, please don't do that!!

So, back to the places and to-do's of the city. If it's rainy or you are very interested in technology and history of it, you must visit Deutsches Museum ("the German Museum"). It's a big museum full of tech-cool stuff. There is a possibility that you travel with a guy who really really wants to spend the day in the museum.. Give them the chance. Blackmail them into a shopping/walking day in the best places of Munich. ;) The best shopping places are around the "Zentrum" even though there are some outlets (MANY) outside the city. If you seeks something more original, try the places around Marienplatz. It doesn't matter if you have any money on you, but this is a Must, otherwise you haven't seen Munich. Walk eating ice-cream (Germans have a tradition of getting the best of other things, so it will be Gelato that you'll be eating. The only and one true Gelato) on Maximilianstrasse and Theaterstrasse. Maximilianstrasse is famous for it's Chanel, Bvlgari, Prada, etc stores. Theaterstrasse is more famous for it's liveness, as there are always many street performances going on, starting of break dance, ending with opera singing and orchestras on the street. Enjoy them, visit Kunsthalle and the passages around it.
